Now I KNOW y'all are gonna be jealous of my Ted Kord Blue Beetle hoodie.
Well, paint your own! That's what I did. Just acrylics and fabric marker.
Oh, and make sure the acrylics are watered down. I learned that the hard way last weekend when I tried to make a Zoom hoodie and the paint peeled off in the washer. *dies*
I'm definitely going to be wearing it to Dallas Comic Con this February. Trying to decide if I want to go further and actually make a full-on urban-style Blue Beetle costume with goggles and stuff. I dunno though; I can't tell if people will be like 'Wow what a great idea!' or 'Wow what a lazy costume!'
Homemade hoodies are awesome! I'm wanting to make a Kid Flash one and an DCAU-version Flash one (I love Wally haha)
HAHAHA 'close enough cosplays' what's funny is that's exactly what I said about my Blue Beetle cosplay the day I put it all together xD 'Close enough!' No this is great, I love cheap costumes!
Yeah, the low budget cosplays are often better than anything done by a professional! It's impressive what people can pull together with limited funds. Much of it is raw creativity and being able to think outside the box. My first home made costume was Tai from Digimon, and I used the same tactic, taking cheap supplies and a limited knowledge of sewing. I was so proud of how it turned out! Sometime, I'll dig up the pics if you want to see.
Love that hoodie!
THATS SO COOL!
